At JeepBolts.com this is what we do. Such a small item on these vehicles rusts out in most areas of the country, and this, in turn, leads to a depreciated resale value that can be thousands of dollars. We have studied these bolts extensively for years before we found a product we were happy with, that we were willing to stand behind, and create a website based around them. There are so many types of metal out there being sold to just serve as a replacement for the stock bolts. We often ask people “Do you know the difference?” – There are a large number of variations in steel. Grade of stainless steel, passivated, hardened, how the steel is annealed, does it meet ASTM standards, is it stainless or automotive-grade – automotive-grade steel still rusts. There was a tremendous amount of consideration that went into the bolts that we chose to protect our vehicles and an even larger amount of testing. You can be sure all JeepBolt Bolts meet our very strict requirements and come with our 100% Guarantee.
We sell High Grade 18-8 Hardened Corrosion/Rust Proof Stainless Steel. This is why 1000's of Jeepers, contractors, and mechanic shops trust us worldwide. Plus, we guarantee all our bolts - any bolts that rust, corrode, oxidizes, or strip, we will replace for free as long as the original owner has the Jeep.
Cheap bolts, like Black-Oxide (most black bolts), Chrome, Zinc, and Automotive Grade, can usually be purchased for a few pennies at a local hardware store and are sold at some other online vendors. Most of us remember when we went to a place that specializes in bolts and found Black-Oxide. We thought we struck gold because they were 15 cents each. After about 3 months though they all began to oxidize on the surface and discolor. We also used to automatically think Torx bolts because they were the stock style.
That's when we realized this...
Torx/Star bolts on Jeeps strip easily because of how shallow they are. Torx bits get narrower from the beginning of the bit to the end. They need more depth to grab the bolt head surface and cannot properly accomplish this on a flat bolt. Hex/Allen head bolts do not have the same issue because the 5 sided socket walls are the same width all the way down. The solution is to replace old-style Torx/Star head bolts with Hex/Allen head bolts. Why put the same bolt back on your Jeep that is notorious for stripping? Check out our 100% Guarantee. With the hex head ones, they were more expensive, but have had less than 1 of 10000 bolts strip. Should you have any further questions please head to our contact us page.
